YOGA
Yoga explored through interpretative story telling
Themes such as animals, nature, myths, legends, environmental topics, life
This helps promote, health, breathing, well being, balance & mindfulness
MUSIC
Singing songs, experimenting with different genres & instrument exploration
Beats, patterning, melody, pace, rhythm, pitch
These are the underlying fundamental of math, sequencing, science and problem solving
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Experiencing songs, music and dance through a variety of creative outlets
Finger plays, action songs, beanbags, parachutes, bubbles, Simon says
Gaining confidence, spacial awareness, gross motor skills, and body recognition
SHARED KAI & FREE PLAY
At the end of the session we like to sit together and have a shared kai and korero
We ask that each child brings a piece of fruit to contribute to the kai basket. This gives children a sense of belonging and makes them feel like they are giving something back... contributing.
After kai, we all kick back and have a natter and a play.
UNDER THE TREE
YOGA, MUSIC & CREATIVE MOVEMENT FOR PRESCHOOLERS`
Under the tree provides preschoolers a wonderful opportunity to explore Yoga, music and creative movement through simple stories and music from all around the world.
Our classes are an hour and a half long with a strong focus on promoting a relaxed and casual environment. Our hope is that both parent and child enjoy the experience equally.
All this holistic goodness takes place in sunny Otaki under our beautiful Jacaranda tree.
WHO WE ARE

Im Tanya a passionate teacher, designer and mum.
I want to provide a service for our children that teaches yoga, music, and creative movement while encouraging our tamakiki to get back outside and into nature.
I want to foster and encourage connections between children, their whanau, and the local community. Bringing people together while doing something positive and meaningful.
I have 14 years experience in the education industry, and 10 experience years in the design industry. So what better way to combine the two by designing a class that inspires, stimulates and delights our young ones.
